Sa Bassa Blanca Museum

Nature and art, two very powerful words that make the Sa Bassa Blanca Museum / Yannick and Ben Jacober Foundation a very special place. The Museum is located in a very unique environment in the heart of nature in Alcúdia. A commitment to promote art within a rural natural environment, the essence of Mallorca, bringing a clearly defined identity to this artistic project.

In 1993, the artists and collectors Yannick Vu and Ben Jakober joined with the philanthropist Georges Coulon Karlweis to create a foundation in an old underground water deposit on the Sa Bassa Blanca estate near Alcúdia. 25 years later, this project to promote cultural development and respect for the environment has become a multidisciplinary venue with different spaces and buildings where art and nature are in perfect symbiosis. A sensory experience that you must not miss during your visit to the island.

Sa Bassa Blanca Museum. Visit

The Nins collection has more than 150 portraits of children from different European countries made from the 16th to 19th centuries, was the first space to open at the Museum and occupies the old water tank. It was declared a Catalogued Asset of the Historical Heritage of the Balearic Islands before adding more attractions that can be visited as part of this unique experience. These include the Rose Garden and distinctive Sculpture Park, the main building designed by Hassan Fathy, the Karlweis Wing which houses a collection of contemporary art, the Sokrates Room, a wonderful 15th-century Mudejar room with a coffered ceiling, and the Zoo area with a collection of granite animals.

Paintings, architecture and sculpture come together in a privileged environment that has its base in Mallorcan traditions and culture. You can also admire the beauty of The Observatory, 15 minutes from the museum itself, but forming part of the sensory experience if offers. Admire the strong links between the hills and the plains, the sky and the sea, the industrial and the artistic. Luxury for all the senses.

In addition to the Museum’s permanent exhibitions, visitors can also enjoy temporary exhibitions and special installations. You can the ticket prices on the Museum website. Itinerem customers interested in this experience get a 15% discount if you visit as a group (minimum of 8 people).
